Latest status · 12 October 2026
Punjab Kings’ final IPL 2027 retained and released lists have not been verified as published. Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh and the Indian batting core lead our projections; no completed PBKS trade has been verified. The ₹11.50 crore figure is their pre-auction 2026 balance, not their 2027 auction purse.
Cutoff: 12 October 2026 (IST). The official IPL 2027 Punjab Kings retention, release and trade list has not been published by the IPL, BCCI or PBKS at this cutoff, so this page is a projection rather than a final team sheet. The latest verified baseline is the official IPL 2026 cycle: PBKS retained 21 players, then added four at the auction to make a 25-player squad. That roster contained a strong Indian batting spine, two frontline spinners and several overseas all-round or pace options, but it also left questions about death bowling, role clarity and reserve wicketkeeping.
This PBKS 2027 retained, released and trade players list separates Confirmed facts from Reported media information, Rumour, Expected/Prediction and Hypothetical scenarios. It covers the likely core, players whose contracts should be reviewed, trade logic, purse mechanics, squad needs, a predicted XI and auction priorities. The 2026 names and figures below are used only where independently checked; no projected player is described as retained or released until an official announcement exists. For wider context, see the IPL analysis hub and the league-wide 2027 retention tracker.
PBKS 2027 squad status
Confirmed status: the IPL 2027 PBKS retention, release and trade lists are not published at this cutoff. The most reliable starting point is the official IPL 2026 retention announcement plus the official PBKS post-auction squad article. The latter named four additions—Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis, Pravin Dubey and Vishal Nishad—making the completed 2026 group 25 players. That history tells us what PBKS controlled in 2026; it does not establish 2027 contracts.
Reported: ESPNcricinfo reported on 23 September 2026 that BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed Goa as the IPL 2027 auction venue and December as the month. The report did not give a final auction day. A separate 7 October media report claimed a 15 November retention deadline, but it was not corroborated by a readable IPL or BCCI notice in this check, so it remains Reported rather than Confirmed. Readers should use the IPL 2027 auction news page for updates, not social-media lists.

PBKS retained players 2027: projected list
Expected/Prediction, not Confirmed: this is the likely retention core if PBKS prefer continuity. The official 2026 list showed a franchise willing to retain 21 players, while the 2026 season review reported a powerful batting identity but a bowling group that conceded too many runs and struggled for control. PBKS should therefore retain the Indian spine and keep only overseas players with a defined match role.

| Player | Role | 2026 status / salary evidence | Retention likelihood | Why PBKS may retain |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shreyas Iyer | Captain / top-order batter | Retained in official 2026 list; reported ₹26.75 crore | Very high | Leadership, top-order control and a contract investment that still defines the side. |
| Arshdeep Singh | Left-arm Indian pace | Retained in 2026; reported ₹18 crore | Very high | Indian left-arm new-ball and death skill is scarce and hard to replace. |
| Prabhsimran Singh | Indian wicketkeeper-opener | Retained in 2026; 2026 squad member | High | Domestic keeper-opener keeps the XI flexible without consuming an overseas slot. |
| Priyansh Arya | Indian left-hand opener | Retained in 2026; 2026 squad member | High | Powerplay intent and an age profile suited to a continuity plan. |
| Shashank Singh | Indian finisher / seam option | Retained in 2026; 2026 squad member | High | Finishing, fielding and occasional overs cover several match scenarios. |
| Nehal Wadhera | Indian left-hand middle order | Retained in 2026; 2026 squad member | Medium-high | Useful left-hand balance, though PBKS must define his batting position. |
| Cooper Connolly | Australian batting all-rounder | Added by PBKS at 2026 auction | High | Left-hand batting plus left-arm spin; official PBKS described the fit as a targeted choice. |
| Harpreet Brar | Indian left-arm orthodox spinner | Retained in 2026; 2026 squad member | High | Indian spin control protects overseas slots and offers matchup value. |
| Yuzvendra Chahal | Indian leg-spinner | Retained in 2026; reported ₹18 crore | Medium-high | Wicket-taking experience is valuable, but age, matchups and price demand a fresh role review. |
| Azmatullah Omarzai | Afghanistan seam all-rounder | Retained in 2026; 2026 squad member | Medium-high | Four-over potential and batting depth, provided his overseas slot has a clear purpose. |
| Marco Jansen | South African left-arm pace all-rounder | Retained in 2026; 2026 squad member | Medium | Angle and batting length are attractive, but his role and economy need scrutiny. |
| Marcus Stoinis | Australian power all-rounder | Retained in 2026; reported ₹11 crore | Medium | Leadership and power remain useful, but Connolly, Shashank and Omarzai create overlap. |
| Lockie Ferguson | New Zealand fast bowler | Retained in 2026; 2026 squad member | Medium | High pace is an asset only if fitness and death-overs usage are dependable. |
| Vijaykumar Vyshak / Yash Thakur | Indian pace depth | Retained in 2026 | Medium | At least one domestic reserve should survive, although a new death specialist could change the mix. |
| Musheer Khan / Suryansh Shedge | Young Indian all-round depth | Retained in 2026 | Medium | Low-cost development value; final decision depends on a credible path to playing time. |
| Vishnu Vinod | Reserve wicketkeeper-batter | Retained in 2026 | Medium | Insurance behind Prabhsimran, but the role can be replaced if a younger keeper is preferred. |
Automatic core. Iyer and Arshdeep are the clearest decisions. Iyer gives PBKS a captain and a high-value top-order organiser; his reported ₹26.75 crore 2026 figure was independently reported by Outlook Sports Desk, while the official IPL release confirms the team’s overall ₹113.50 crore spend. Arshdeep’s reported ₹18 crore makes him expensive, but Indian left-arm pace and death-overs experience are not skills PBKS can casually replace. These are role decisions, not simply price decisions.
Prabhsimran, Priyansh, Shashank and Connolly form a particularly useful domestic-heavy batting framework. Prabhsimran can keep and open, Priyansh supplies left-hand powerplay intent, Shashank offers late hitting and Connolly adds left-hand batting with left-arm spin. Keeping those players reduces dependence on overseas slots and gives the coach more ways to build a four- or five-bowler XI. Nehal is slightly more conditional because his value depends on a stable No. 4-6 role rather than being a generic reserve batter.
Bowling spine. Brar is a sensible Indian continuity pick because an economical left-arm spinner is easier to fit around overseas pacers. Chahal remains a likely retention, but he is not labelled automatic: an ₹18 crore reported salary, matchup choices and the need to attack in the middle overs all demand a hard review. PBKS should ask whether he is a weekly wicket-taking starter or merely an expensive insurance option. That question can be answered without pretending he has been released.
Overseas decisions. Omarzai has a clean balance case if he can contribute four overs and lower-order runs. Jansen brings left-arm pace and batting length, while Stoinis brings leadership and power; however, Connolly, Shashank and Omarzai already occupy parts of the same skill map. Ferguson, Bartlett and Dwarshuis offer pace but compete for limited overseas positions. A high salary does not automatically mean release, yet a high salary plus an unclear role is a legitimate reason to test the market.
PBKS released players 2027: projected list
Expected/Prediction and review only: PBKS have not published a 2027 release list. A release sends a contracted player into the auction pool; it is different from a trade, which transfers a contract directly to another franchise. Because most individual 2026 salaries were not itemised in the official squad announcement, the table uses exact figures only where independently reported and otherwise says “not itemised”. That is safer than inventing a salary.

| Player | Role | 2026 salary evidence | Release likelihood | Reason for possible release |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Marcus Stoinis | Overseas power all-rounder | Reported ₹11 crore | Medium | Role overlap with Connolly, Shashank and Omarzai; a release could open an overseas slot, but leadership and finishing may still justify the cost. |
| Marco Jansen | Overseas left-arm pace all-rounder | Not itemised in official release notice | Medium | PBKS need his angle, yet an unclear batting/bowling role and overseas-slot pressure make this a real review. |
| Lockie Ferguson | Overseas fast bowler | Not itemised in official release notice | Medium | A high-pace bowler must be trusted in the powerplay or at the death; otherwise a specialist option may be better. |
| Mitchell Owen | Overseas batting all-rounder | Not itemised in official release notice | Medium | The skills are useful, but PBKS cannot carry several similar overseas finishers if the bowling needs repair. |
| Xavier Bartlett | Overseas fast bowler | Not itemised in official release notice | Low-medium | Retain if he is a genuine powerplay/death plan; release is possible if the auction supplies a clearer first-choice quick. |
| Ben Dwarshuis | Overseas left-arm pace all-rounder | Added at 2026 auction; price not confirmed here | Medium | Useful reserve and left-arm variety, but a foreign bench slot has to be weighed against an XI-ready bowler. |
| Vishnu Vinod | Indian wicketkeeper-batter | 2026 contract amount not independently verified | Low-medium | A reserve keeper is necessary; he becomes vulnerable only if PBKS acquire a younger, reliable Indian alternative. |
| Pravin Dubey / Vishal Nishad | Indian spin depth | ₹30 lakh base price each, per PBKS announcement | Low-medium | Low cost reduces the financial case for release; the cricketing question is opportunities and development. |
| Harnoor Singh / Pyla Avinash | Indian batting depth | Not itemised in official release notice | Low-medium | Both offer domestic cover, but a 25-player limit may force a choice if PBKS buy another middle-order batter. |
How the release reviews should be read
Stoinis. The reported ₹11 crore figure makes him the most obvious value conversation, not an automatic release. If PBKS want a No. 5/6 batter who can bowl matchup overs and lead a young group, retaining him is defensible. If Connolly, Shashank and Omarzai cover the same functions, the club may prefer to spend that overseas place on a specialist quick. He is more valuable if his batting order and bowling usage are written into the plan before the deadline.
Jansen. His left-arm angle and ability to lengthen the batting are difficult to find. The counterargument is role clarity: an overseas player must either lead a bowling phase or materially change the batting. If PBKS use him only as a sixth bowling option while asking Arshdeep and another quick to carry the attack, a specialist death bowler could offer more certainty. This is a conditional review based on fit, not a claim that Jansen has underperformed in every context.
Wicketkeeping review. Vishnu Vinod should not be released unless PBKS have a reliable Indian replacement. Prabhsimran’s dual role is valuable, but a team should not enter a season with only one keeper. A trade or auction purchase can change this call. The safest projection is therefore “depth review”, not “released”.
PBKS trade players 2027: latest news and possibilities
Confirmed: no completed PBKS 2027 player trade was verified in the official IPL, BCCI or Punjab Kings material reviewed by 12 October 2026. Older trade stories involving other franchises should not be pasted into a PBKS list. The table below separates the one media claim from role-based possibilities.
Swipe or scroll horizontally to view all columns.
| Player / target | Rumoured direction | Reported reason / fit | Trade likelihood | Assessment |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No confirmed trade | — | — | — | Confirmed: no PBKS 2027 trade verified in official material by the cutoff. |
| Nehal Wadhera | PBKS to Gujarat Titans | Reported player swap, with Gurnoor Singh Brar mentioned in the other direction | Rumour / low-medium | A media report dated 7 October 2026; no club or IPL confirmation. Treat as a claim, not a transaction. |
| Indian death bowler | Possible incoming target | PBKS need, not a named report | Expected/Prediction | A trade would make sense only if the player is contracted, available and the salary fits; no specific player is confirmed. |
| Specialist overseas quick | Possible incoming target | Hypothetical role upgrade | Hypothetical / low | Would improve bowling only if PBKS first release or trade out an overlapping overseas contract. |
| Reserve wicketkeeper | Possible incoming target | Expected squad-balance possibility | Expected/Prediction / low | A move could be preferable to carrying two limited-use keepers, but no credible named deal is confirmed. |
The Wadhera claim. A Yahoo Sports-hosted report dated 7 October 2026 mentioned a possible Nehal Wadhera move from PBKS to Gujarat Titans, with Gurnoor Singh Brar named in the other direction. No official PBKS, GT or IPL confirmation was found in the check. It is therefore a Rumour, not a confirmed trade. It could make cricketing sense only if PBKS believe they have enough left-hand middle-order cover and need an Indian bowler; otherwise it weakens a batting role the squad still needs to define.
What PBKS should seek. The best trade return would be an Indian death bowler, a flexible Indian seamer or a wicketkeeper who can start when required. PBKS’ 2026 review reported 64 wickets, a 42.54 bowling average and a 10.40 economy, alongside 16 dropped catches from 56 opportunities in one Times of India assessment. Those figures point to repeatable execution and fielding more than celebrity recruitment. A trade that adds another batting all-rounder without improving the bowling would be hard to justify.
Trade versus release. A trade may preserve value if another franchise wants a contracted player and PBKS can receive a role they would otherwise chase at auction. A release gives PBKS cash freedom, but the auction can become competitive and the player may return at a higher price. A contracted player’s salary, overseas status, replacement rules and the receiving team’s purse all matter. No salary adjustment should be inferred until the franchises publish it.
Punjab’s decisions are best compared with teams trying to protect an Indian batting core. Our CSK 2027 retention analysis offers a different continuity model, while the all-team IPL 2027 player tracker separates confirmed movement from projected lists.
PBKS salary cap and purse situation
The cleanest way to avoid a false 2027 purse is to separate the published framework from club arithmetic. The IPL Governing Council’s 2025-27 regulations set the total salary cap at ₹157 crore for 2027. The same framework says total salary cap includes the auction purse, incremental performance pay and match fees; it is not identical to the cash available for a single auction bid. PBKS’ official 2026 numbers are a historical reference point only.
Swipe or scroll horizontally to view all columns.
| Item | Amount / status | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| IPL 2027 total salary cap | ₹157 crore | Confirmed in IPL Governing Council regulations for the 2027 cycle; this includes auction purse, incremental performance pay and match fees. |
| PBKS 2026 retention spend | ₹113.50 crore | Confirmed by IPL on 15 November 2025; this is the historical PBKS pre-auction spend. |
| PBKS 2026 auction purse remaining | ₹11.50 crore | Confirmed by IPL; four slots remained, including two overseas slots. |
| PBKS 2026 post-auction group | 25 players | Confirmed by PBKS on 16 December 2025 after four additions. |
| PBKS 2027 purse before final movement | Not calculable yet | The 2027 retention, release and trade register is unpublished; 2026 numbers cannot be rolled forward mechanically. |
| Salary freed by likely releases | Projection only | Depends on the actual contracted amounts, replacement rules and whether the player is released or traded. |
| Trade impact | Unconfirmed | A trade can move a contracted salary and may require a negotiated adjustment; no PBKS 2027 trade is confirmed. |
In the 2026 retention notice, PBKS had spent ₹113.50 crore, leaving ₹11.50 crore and four slots, with two overseas positions available. The figure is internally consistent with a near-complete squad: PBKS chose continuity, then used the auction to add Connolly, Dwarshuis, Pravin and Vishal. It does not mean that ₹43.50 crore was freely available under a ₹157 crore 2027 cap, because the cap components and season-specific purse rules are not interchangeable.
For 2027, releases create room only according to the player’s actual contract and the governing rules. A traded player may move salary obligation from one franchise to another, and an incoming player may require a negotiated amount. A player who is merely a rumoured release creates no purse space. This is why the article uses “projection” rather than a fake post-release balance.
The biggest strategic question is not how much PBKS can spend in theory, but how much they need to reserve for a frontline death bowler. If the club retains the expensive core around Iyer, Arshdeep and Chahal, it must be disciplined with secondary overseas all-rounders. If it releases one overlap contract, it can pursue a marquee bowler without leaving the bench thin. The right target is a repeatable role, not an impressive auction headline.
PBKS squad needs for IPL 2027
The 2026 baseline had enough named players in every department, but quantity was not the same as a dependable XI. PBKS’ next build should protect what worked—top-order aggression and Indian batting depth—while improving the phases that decide close games. The priorities below are Expected/Prediction, not official recruitment news.
Swipe or scroll horizontally to view all columns.
| Department | Current strength | Need for 2027 | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Openers | Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran give left/right powerplay options | Protect the pair but add a reliable Indian reserve opener | Medium |
| Middle order | Iyer, Nehal, Shashank and Connolly cover several combinations | Define No. 4-6 roles and add one pressure-resistant Indian batter | High |
| Finishers | Shashank, Stoinis, Connolly and Shedge provide options | Avoid duplication; prioritise a finisher who can also field and rotate strike | Medium |
| Wicketkeepers | Prabhsimran and Vishnu Vinod are the verified 2026 options | Keep a dependable reserve without spending an overseas slot | Medium |
| Spinners | Chahal, Brar, Pravin Dubey and Musheer offer variety | Add another Indian wicket-taking option if Chahal is matchup-dependent | Medium |
| Pace attack | Arshdeep, Ferguson, Jansen, Vyshak, Yash, Bartlett and Dwarshuis | Acquire a trustworthy Indian death bowler and a clear second new-ball plan | Very high |
| All-rounders | Omarzai, Connolly, Stoinis, Jansen, Owen and Shashank | Retain only role-defined combinations; use saved slots for specialist bowling | High |
| Overseas core | Six overseas at the 2026 retention stage, then two overseas additions | Use overseas places for match-winning certainty, not bench duplication | High |
Top order. Priyansh and Prabhsimran give PBKS a natural left/right opening pairing, with Iyer able to control the innings at three. The key is not to break that identity for a fashionable overseas opener. A domestic backup who can start when required is a more efficient use of a slot.
Middle order and finishing. Iyer, Nehal, Shashank and Connolly offer a good left/right mix, but the order must be defined. PBKS need a batter who can absorb spin, attack pace at the death and field well—not another name who waits for an undefined opportunity. Shashank’s finishing value should be protected, while Connolly can be used as a matchup all-rounder rather than an automatic four-over bowler.
Death bowling. This is the clearest need. Arshdeep is a core piece, but one bowler cannot cover every late-innings over. PBKS should add an Indian death option before buying another generalist overseas all-rounder. A second specialist also reduces the pressure on the Impact Player decision.
Spin. Chahal and Brar provide experience and matchup variety, with Pravin and Musheer as depth. The need is not a large spin collection; it is another bowler who can take wickets when Chahal is rested or attacked. An Indian spinner is preferable because overseas slots are more valuable for pace.
Wicketkeeping and overseas balance. Prabhsimran and Vishnu cover the 2026 baseline, yet the reserve role matters. PBKS should not use an overseas slot for a keeper unless that player is a certain starter. Overseas players must offer a decisive difference: left-arm pace, death skill, top-order power or genuine four-over value.
Probable PBKS playing XI for IPL 2027
Expected/Prediction only: this XI assumes PBKS retain the projected core and do not yet buy a new frontline seamer. It is a role map, not a selection announcement. Conditions, injuries, overseas availability and the auction can change it.
Swipe or scroll horizontally to view all columns.
| Position | Projected player | Role | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Priyansh Arya | Left-hand opener | Expected/Prediction |
| 2 | Prabhsimran Singh | Wicketkeeper-opener | Expected/Prediction |
| 3 | Shreyas Iyer | Captain / top-order batter | Expected/Prediction |
| 4 | Nehal Wadhera | Left-hand middle order | Expected/Prediction |
| 5 | Shashank Singh | Finisher / seam option | Expected/Prediction |
| 6 | Cooper Connolly | Batting all-rounder | Expected/Prediction |
| 7 | Azmatullah Omarzai | Seam all-rounder | Expected/Prediction |
| 8 | Harpreet Brar | Left-arm spinner | Expected/Prediction |
| 9 | Arshdeep Singh | Left-arm pace | Expected/Prediction |
| 10 | Yuzvendra Chahal | Leg-spinner | Expected/Prediction |
| 11 | Marco Jansen or a new overseas quick | Pace / balance slot | Expected/Prediction |
| Impact Player | Vijaykumar Vyshak or Yash Thakur | Indian pace cover | Expected/Prediction |
This combination preserves PBKS’ Indian batting identity while giving the attack left-arm pace, leg-spin and left-arm orthodox spin. Omarzai provides a fourth-seam option and Connolly adds a left-arm spin alternative, although the staff should not assume every all-rounder will complete four overs. The XI’s vulnerability is obvious: it may need a new overseas quick or Indian death bowler before it can defend totals consistently.
PBKS auction strategy for IPL 2027
Expected/Prediction: PBKS should enter the Goa auction with a continuity-first plan, not a rebuild. Their verified 2026 group already had 25 players and a wide skill spread. The objective should be to turn the spread into a dependable XI by spending on certainty in the bowling phases, then adding low-cost cover. A marquee batter is attractive only if the club releases an overlapping role; otherwise the auction should repair the attack.
Swipe or scroll horizontally to view all columns.
| Auction target type | Examples of need | Budget approach | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marquee Indian death bowler | Two overs at the back end; wicket-taking under pressure | High spend only if role and availability are proven | Very high |
| Reliable Indian pace depth | Powerplay, middle overs or injury cover | Medium spend; protect purse for first choice | High |
| Specialist overseas quick | New-ball movement or death variations | Medium-to-high spend after an overseas release | High |
| Middle-order pressure batter | No. 4-6 accelerator against spin and pace | Medium spend; avoid duplicating existing finishers | High |
| Indian leg-spin / mystery spin depth | Wickets when Chahal is rested or targeted | Low-to-medium spend | Medium |
| Reserve wicketkeeper-opener | Cover for Prabhsimran and flexible XI selection | Low spend unless the player is a genuine starter | Medium |
| Development players | Domestic batting, pace and fielding cover | Base-price discipline | Medium |
The first bid should be for a bowler who can close an innings under pressure. Indian status matters because it lets PBKS retain two overseas places for a specialist quick and a flexible all-rounder. The second priority is a dependable domestic seamer who can play when conditions demand, not just a prospect who repeats a role already held by Vyshak or Yash.
PBKS can then assess the overseas group. If Stoinis, Jansen, Ferguson, Owen, Bartlett, Dwarshuis and Omarzai all remain, there may be no reason to chase another overseas generalist. One of them should be a clear starter, one a matchup option and one an injury reserve; otherwise the club has converted purse into bench congestion. A controlled bid for a death quick is preferable to a bidding war for a familiar all-rounder.
Value buys should be Indian batters who can play at No. 4-6, wicketkeepers with opening flexibility and bowlers with two phases of utility. PBKS should avoid paying a premium for a player whose best role is already covered by Iyer, Shashank or Connolly. The club also needs a reserve budget for late replacements and should not treat the ₹157 crore total salary cap as a single auction wallet.

What PBKS fans should watch next
The next meaningful update is an official IPL or BCCI notice, not a screenshot of a supposed list. Fans should check these checkpoints in order:
- Retention deadline: confirm the date through IPL/BCCI communication; the reported 15 November date is not official in this article.
- Official release announcement: distinguish released players from players merely discussed by reporters.
- Trade-window updates: look for both franchises or the IPL to confirm a completed move.
- Salary and squad disclosures: use official figures where available; do not infer purse from a rumour.
- Auction registration list: note which overseas players register and whether a target is actually available.
- Goa auction in December: track PBKS signings, remaining purse and overseas slots as they happen.
- Final squad and captaincy: confirm the post-auction group, injury replacements and Iyer’s leadership status.
FAQs
Has PBKS announced its 2027 retained players list?
No. At the 12 October 2026 cutoff, no official IPL, BCCI or PBKS 2027 retention list was published. The names in the projected-retention section are Expected/Prediction based on the verified 2026 roster, role scarcity and squad fit. They should not be copied as confirmed retentions.
Who are PBKS most likely to retain?
The clearest Expected/Prediction core is Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh, Prabhsimran Singh, Priyansh Arya, Shashank Singh, Nehal Wadhera, Cooper Connolly and Harpreet Brar. Chahal, Omarzai, Jansen, Stoinis and the overseas quicks are important but more conditional because their roles overlap or consume valuable overseas and salary capacity.
Who could PBKS release before IPL 2027?
No player is officially released. The review group includes Stoinis, Jansen, Ferguson, Mitchell Owen, Bartlett, Dwarshuis and some depth players. The decision will turn on salary, fitness, role clarity, overseas balance and whether PBKS can buy a more dependable death-bowling option. A review is not a release.
Has PBKS completed a trade for IPL 2027?
No completed PBKS 2027 trade was verified in the official material checked. A 7 October media report mentioned a possible Wadhera-GT discussion, with Gurnoor Singh Brar named in the other direction, but that remains Rumour. A trade moves a contracted player directly between franchises; a release sends the player into the auction pool.
How much purse will PBKS have for the 2027 auction?
It cannot be calculated responsibly yet. IPL regulations set the 2027 total salary cap at ₹157 crore, but the usable auction purse depends on the final 2027 retained contracts, releases, trades, replacements and any league rules applied. The ₹113.50 crore spend and ₹11.50 crore balance belong to the 2026 pre-auction baseline, not the 2027 purse.
Who is PBKS captain for IPL 2027?
Shreyas Iyer is the Expected/Prediction captain because he led PBKS in the verified 2026 group and remains the leadership anchor in this projection. PBKS has not officially confirmed its 2027 captain at the cutoff, so the label must remain predictive.
When will the PBKS 2027 squad be final?
The usual sequence is official retention and release lists, the trade window, auction registration, the Goa auction in December, and a final squad update. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed Goa and December through a report cited by ESPNcricinfo, but the exact auction day and PBKS deadlines were not confirmed in the material reviewed.
Final verdict
Expected/Prediction: PBKS should retain the Iyer-Arshdeep-Indian batting spine, keep at least one high-value leg-spinner and use the 2027 auction to buy bowling certainty. Stoinis, Jansen, Ferguson and the other overseas options deserve role-and-salary reviews, not invented release labels. No PBKS 2027 retention, release or trade list is official at the cutoff; that is the central fact. The best current reading is a continuity-first squad with an urgent Indian death-bowling upgrade, a defined overseas plan and enough purse discipline to add depth after the headline bid.
