The ICC's venue guide lists 50,000 seats and identifies it as home to Uttar Pradesh and the Lucknow Super Giants. Its longer official name honours former Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee; throughout this guide, the shorter Ekana Cricket Stadium keeps the information easy to scan.
International cricket is part of the ground's history, not a future promise: Afghanistan hosted a Test against West Indies here in November 2019, and India played England in the 2023 Men's Cricket World Cup at the same venue.
